At seven months old Lane weighed six pounds and fourteen ounces and nineteen inches long. His sleeping has improved to sleeping three to four hours. He started getting use to the different sounds other than being use to all the machines and the monitors beeping in the nicunit. Lanes eating was was improving everyday. He was starting to recognize our voices. The start of miracles has just begun.

This month has been one adventure after another. Lane had 50's day at school, he went dressed as Potsy off Happy Days, Lane just isn't a leather guy. Lane had awards at soccer, he got a little stimulated but he done real good. Me, Lane and his sister ran a Zombie Fun Run Lane kept saying dad[his dad watches Walking Dead]. We went to the Fall Festival at Therapy, Lane went as Elf On The Shelf and this past weekend his sister ran a 5k and won first in her age then all 3 of us ran the fun run. The race was for Cerebral Palsy. We went to the fall party at school today, Lane is so blessed to have great teachers.

Lane being home with his family was a blessing. At six months old weighing six pounds and his length eighteen inches long. That's the size of most newborns. He was a very restless baby. He would sleep one to two hours, stay awake for hours crying. Talk about walking the floors and praying. He got his first tub bath at six months old. So very nervous with him having the feeding tube, thank God he doesn't have the feeding tube anymore. When Lane came home from the hospital he was so tiny, he had the feeding tube which I did not use, I would sit and rock him and finally got him to suck a bottle. God is good! Lane was on oxygen till the age two. God has brought Lane so far.                                                                                               Fall is in the air and Lane loves being outside. Soccer season is coming to a end.  Awards are in a couple of weeks. Lanes excited about doing the Zombie Fun Run at the end of the month. Lane is doing so good using the potty. God has truly blessed me with a fighter.

The excitement of Lanes coming home from the hospital was full of emotions. Lane was released from LeBonheur April 15,2005.Lane liked three days being five months old. Lanes coming home was like bringing home a new born, his weight at five months old was the weight of a new born. He weighed five pounds and six ounces. The difference in Lanes homecoming he couldn't have visitors. For the first three months no one could be around and I had to keep everything wiped down with alcohol. This was the beginning of a very stressful, joyful, emotional, challenging, an awesome growth in the Lord, learning patience and what a unique love for Lane. As a family Lane has taught us a lot.

What one amazing little boy he is. Everyday is a new day with Lane. I'm blessed and our family is blessed for God giving us Lane

. What love and happiness he brings into everyone life he is a part of. His love for God and the smile on his face is such a blessing to everyone. The joy of watching him getting excited when its time to go to his soccer game.

It's amazing the favor God gives you with people that understands having a special child. The sleepless nights, not knowing what stimulated them to a point its scary. I know God gives me within myself what it takes to care for Lane.

Lanes potty training is still going good, three weeks into it he has peed twice in the potty. After school one afternoon this week he wanted to sit in his firetruck he kept saying daddy.

(Lanes daddy is a fireman) Talking into his toy walkie talkie telling his daddy thank you. Lane is my world round and round.

From the second, let me rephrase that before Lane was even born God was and still is in control. Stepping onto the elevator making it up to the NI CU at LeBonheur Children's Hospital to go and be with God's gift he blessed us with. As I was making my way up to the 4th floor, thoughts running through my mind, asking God why? The elevator stopped on the 3rd floor this lady probably in her early 60's stepped on. She had such a softness about her. As I waited for the stop on the next floor she turned and looked at me and said, he's in God's hands and everything will be okay. The elevator door opened she got off. As I stepped off I looked to tell her thank you as the tears streamed down my face knowing it was an angel God sent to give me the strength to endure what Lane was going through. But she was no where to be seen. I believe we entertain angels everyday not knowing. I walked over to Lanes tiny body with a new strength. It was Gods strength he filled me with. I know it was the words I was going to have to hold on to "It's In Gods Hands." Lane at 4 months old had to have his feedings stopped, this was on 3-9. There was stool leaking from his abdominal incision. By 3-17 it closed on its on and his feeding was restarted. He had a gastrostomy tube placed on 3-24.

Lane had an appointment with his neurologist Dr. Muhlbauer which Lane calls Mr Noodle off Elmo's World. His checkup was good he goes back in 9 months. He has had a great week, went to his softball practice and had a blast.

He amazes me, took him to school Wednesday and the teachers helper was out and I was going to go ahead and just take Lane with me. His teacher told me she was good that other teachers was keeping a check on her. So I asked Lane if he wanted to stay or go. Usually he would say go his answer wowed me he said stay. I love him to the moon and back.

So much has been going on i haven't had time to update lane's blog. Soccer season has started and Lane loves it! Lane appointment with his Gastrologist went great. He got evaluated for aquatic, something that I have been trying to get for three years, God is good.

It seemed that Lane was gaining a pound a month. Weighing three pounds at three months old. While most newborns at three months are starting the baby babble and cooing Lane was starting to cry. For every hour. for every day, for every month was a mircle with Lane. Watching this precious baby lay there hooked up to everything to live and look so helpless makes you more and more thankful for Gods love. Not knowing then and now "WHY LANE" is not for me to question, Lane was a gift that God blessed me and our family with. I knew I was to love, teach, and neuture him with the grace of God.

What a week we have had the last week. Monday Lane woke up filling yucky.Took him to see Dr. Fowler his peditration aka Dr. Elmo to Lane.Thankful it was just a sinus infection.

He had school pictures on Wednesday and like always he looked cute. Softball season has started, had his first practice and he was so excited. Thearpy at school started back up and he was thrilled to see Ms Kelley. Lane has no fear, a few other kids went through the thearpy tunnel so Lane had to do it and he done it. What a trooper he will try anything. And to top the week off we have started potty training.

The first three months of Lane life was a roller coaster.Dec.30,2004 Lane had a bowel resection with an ileostomy. His oxygen had to be increased several times. To many times to count they would call the priest in cause they thought Lane wouldn't make it. But my physician{God} had all the right medicine. Jan. 17,2005 Lane had a fungal infection, his ostomy began to prolapse and had issues with localized bleeding aroundthe ostomy. Lane started being stable so they transported back to the hospital in Tupelo Ms. where he stayed for three weeks fighting for his life so he was transported back to LeBonheur. Lane had to have an ostomy and central line placement and his oxygen had to be increased. I know the prayer chain was reaching heaven, no matter what negative words the doctors spoke there was only one report I recieved and that was the report of my Heavenly Father.

Lane had his first softball practice and he was so excited to start his sports back up. The weather has been so nice Lane and I took his bike to the park. This Thursday afternoon will be in my heart forever. As Lane started our stroll on the path a group of all star players was practicing which just made Lane excted to see the boys throwing the ball back and forth I heard the coach tell the boys to be careful. As we was passing the boys i was talking to Lane about the awsome ball team he plays on and the boys was looking at Lane like "he plays ball".We continued on where my daughter had joined us as we was finishing up our stroll we noticed about ten of the boys from the ball team was running towards us. When the boys approached us they circled around us and one of the boys spoke up he handed me a softball and said we want to give this to your son. I stood there speechless with tears streaming down my face. Lane was telling the boys ages 8 and 9 thankyou and insisted on giving them all high fives. God will and does use anyone and anything to let you know hes in control.

Lane's Birth

The day Lane was born he was transported to the NICU in Tupelo MS once he was stable to ride.

The first three weeks of his life he fought for every breath. Lane came into this world for a purpose and he fought every second. We could not hold him due to all of his complications, his skin was so thin you could not touch his body, the only touch he got from us was placing our finger in his little hand. The love for Lane was so deep in my soul and my heart that I ached.

When Lane was 3 weeks old he was transported to the children's hospital LeBonheur in Memphis Tn, the doctors gave him less than 1% to survive, but the God I serve swept a peace over me. Lane had to have heart surgery and stomach surgery where they had to remove some of his intensities that had rotted and was leaking bowel into his body.

What a fighter Lane was and is.

                                                                 This Week
